Information
Congratulations on being a Senior! I look forward to getting to know you, and capturing some awesome shots of you at this special time of life. Here are some tips on preparing for your shoot:
Relax and have fun! I will help you pose, and we will have a great time!
Clothes
Bring several outfit options ( I will help you narrow it down to 3, usually one casual, one formal, and one full of your personality)
- Keep these options simple. Avoid busy patterns, solids come across best. Large logos are very distracting and should be avoided.
- Wrinkles will show, and be quite distracting. Have everything wrinkle free, and try to keep it that way traveling to your shoot.
- We want your outfit to coordinate from your head to your toes!
- Speaking of toes, have your hands and feet ready for the camera, some shots will include or maybe even focus on them!
Accessories
Bring things that speak about you and your interests. This can include sports gear, books, shoes, musical instruments, cars/motorcycles, hats, jewelry, stuffed animals! Anything that tells us about you!
Hair
Avoid drastic changes before your photo shoot. Please come prepared with what you need to keep your hair out of your eyes.
Weather
If its a rainy I will only be able to offer indoor studio shots.
Feel free to bring along a friend or family member. You can take some shots with them if you would like.
Complexion
Do your best to cover up blemishes with make-up. Then, don't worry about it! I'll do the rest with photoshop!
Glasses
Think about if you want to wear your glasses during your shoot. If you do, make sure you have no glare lenses. If you don't have no glare lenses, you may be able to borrow a similar pair to yours from your eye doctor. Lenses that glare will make it very difficult to get a good shot.
For the Girls
Jewelry
Bring several jewelry and accessory options that go with and compliment your outfits. Simple jewelry adds to photos, but if it is too large or flashy, it will distract from the most important part of the photo, you!
Shoes
Heels photograph really well! Casual shoes don't! Barefoot is fun too! I recommend bring a pair of heels, boots, and flats that coordinate with your outfits.
Make-up
I recommend wearing a little more than your everyday wear. If you usually wear none, or very little, I recommend getting it done for your session. It will add contrast to the photos, and enhance your features.
Hair
Have it down, or at least partly down. Its fine to change your hairstyle, or add accessories, but it should be a 5 minute or less change.
For the Guys
Clothing
If you are feeling uncertain about what to wear, or your style is super casual, get some help from Mom, or a girl to help you choose some outfit options.
Shoes
Gym shoes and flip flops don't photograph well. Bring several formal, and nice casual options.
Shaving
If you generally don't have a beard or stash, clean shaven is the way to go and will look best in the photos.
